my cat loves fleece

charlie isn't the sort of cat who likes to lie on top of anyone.
he is soft as a bunny and likes to be cuddled
oh joy for cmas i got this arctic fleece
charlie digs his paws into it
kneading his space
rolls himself into a tight ball
his dreaming voice rises in pitch with every breath
like singing
my stomach hurts as i write this
and realise how delicate intimacy is
and how much i have missed it
